Yes, that is the Mort Sahl—caustic comedian from whose mould were cast the likes of Lenny Bruce, Sam Kinison, and Andrew Dice Clay—appearing as the writer. TV fans will also recognize Werner Klemperer, who would later become forever associated with his Emmy-winning role as Colonel Klink in Hogan's Heroes, and Sue Randall, who is better known for playing Miss Landers in Leave It to Beaver.
